Collection: Sardinian Knives

In Sardinia (Italy), the knife holds a very deep meaning. It originates as a working tool, essential in the labor of the fields, and over time becomes a precious gift with a unique significance. Those fortunate enough to receive it as a gift must pay a symbolic amount, often just a few coins, to the giver. According to tradition, this act would free the giver from the feeling of having given an object that, in the wrong hands, could cause pain and sorrow.

The knife is always presented open, held with the palm facing upwards towards the recipient, as a symbol of trust and the assurance that it will never be used with ill intentions.
