Raku Technique

The Raku technique is renowned for its beauty and unpredictability, which manifest through cracks, streaks, and irregularities on the surfaces of the pieces. The
Raku process involves rapidly heating ceramics in a kiln to a firing temperature of about 800-1000°C, followed by a rapid cooling. After firing, the ceramics are often immersed in a combustible material like sawdust, which
ignites quickly due to the residual heat. This reduction process creates the distinctive black cracks and colors typical of Raku ceramics.

Raku

Giving a Raku sculpture means offering not just an object, but a piece of history, culture, and tradition. Due to its unique character, each piece of Raku pottery becomes a personal and special gift, a one-of-a-kind work of art.
